Rob Keller
Rob Keller received his MFA from UC Davis in 1999. While there he became very interested in incorporating bees into his art practice. Since that time he finds the bees working less for him and his art, and he working more for the bees. His work has been featured most recently at Beeing at the Sonoma County Museum and Beebonibroom: Disturbances in The Field at Napa Valley College’s Gallery. Currently he is very interested in building the local genetic bee stock in Napa Valley through sustainable beekeeping. As the owner of a small bee business (The Napa Valley Bee Company), Rob’s goals are to build a community of beekeepers in his area that practice responsible hive management with the bees’ best interest in mind. Rob teaches beekeeping at The Solar Living Institute in Hopland, Nimbus Arts in St. Helena, Napa Valley Adult School. He lives in Napa with his wife and four-year-old beekeeping-son Davis.
