Anna Simone Combi AKA Anahata

Anna Simone Combi (Anahata) is a co-founder and co-organizer of Blooming Biodiversity and Solutionary Productions, through which she has organized permaculture tours spanning the West Coast: WA, OR, CA, AR, TX, HI, Canada, Costa Rica, Peru, and Bali. These tours bring together communities in transformational celebration to learn and practice permaculture design, principles, ethics, and application. 

 She is an artist, yoga teacher, filmmaker, permaculturalist and singer who grew up in in a international meditation community and in the Redwood forests on the Pacific Ocean in the Bay Area. She designed her own B.A. interdisciplinary degree in Cross-Cultural Social Work and Sustainable Development from University of Redlands and Johnston Center for Integrative Studies. She has been traveling, living, and working in a variety of ecovillages, intentional communities, permaculture and biodynamic farms/gardens and healing arts/yoga/meditation centers in California, Oregon, Hawaii, New York, India, Costa Rica, and Canada sharing her gifts and collaborating with passionate healers, activists, and farmers. Anahata is certified in Starhawk’s Earth Activist Training Permaculture Design Course, and Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects Intensive. 

 Anna is a certified yoga teacher, bodyworker, and herbalist. She lived and studied integral spirituality, sustainable communities, and permaculture at Auroville EcoVillage in southern India. She facilitated Expressive Arts Therapy and herbal botanical gardening for an Ayurvedic medicinal plant garden at Women’s Empowerment Center in Auroville Ecovillage. Anahata studied Hatha, Vinyassa and Iyengar Yoga in India and Costa Rica. She is a certified Nosara Vinyasa, Hatha, and Self Awakening Therapeutics 300-hour RYI Yoga Teacher. She is a certified practitioner in Pranassage, which synthesizes Thai yoga massage and breath work.

She worked in the Peruvian Amazon for indigenous Permaculture organization Arkana Alliance teaching music, dance, art and gardening at a Shipibo elementary school in Santa Clara Village. Each summer she taught Ecological Awareness course as part of the Integral Leadership Work Scholar Program at  Esalen Institute. She worked as an herbalists at Standing Rock, and is currently living at the Regenerative Design Institute in the Commonweal Garden. 

She completed a intensive herbalism internship at Herb Pharm in Williams, Oregon, where she lived, learned and worked planting and harvesting herbs and making herbal medicines including tinctures, glycerites, oils, salves, creams, syrups and elixars. 

She is a cinematographer, editor and social and environmental documentary filmmaker. She's made films focused on Mind/Body/Spirit Wholeness and Sustainability in the Volunteer Services program at Loma Linda University Health, CA Global Warming Solutions Act,  Homeless Interfaith Street Chaplaincy and many more.

Anahata worked as a Children's Program teacher at Omega Institute in New York. Anahata was a environmental science outdoor education elementary and middle school teacher for City Kids Goes Outdoors and Roots & Shoots in Redlands, CA. She worked as a expressive arts and spoken word facilitator at Our House Youth in Crisis Runaway/Homeless shelter and Music & Art Changing Lives in Redlands, CA.  Anna is in a musical group called Blooming Anahata, with her partner Bloom.

Anahata has faciliated workshops and have had extensive, organization, volunteer, and coordination roles at transformational festivals, including: Envision Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Once Upon a Festival, Big Surreal, Flow Festival, Beloved, Enchanted Forest, Pure Living Expo, and more. Anahata has participated in and presented at a variety of social and environmental conferences and convergences including: Bioneers, The NorCal Building Resilient Communities Permaculture Convergence, and the University of Redlands Womens and Gender Studies Conference.
