The Riekes Field Station is a 42-acre wilderness property located in San Gregorio, California. A varied trail system meanders through different habitats including: Redwood Forests and Oak Woodlands, San Gregorio and El Corte de Madera Creeks, and remnants of original Coastal Terrace Prairie. The area is home to many animals including, Gray Foxes, Coyotes, Bobcats, Deer, Mountain Lions, Pacific Giant Salamanders, Steelhead, Great Blue Herons, Kingfishers, Voles and several species of hawks and owls.
The property hosts many groups, including our Regenerative Design Nature Awareness program, who come to camp and interact with the wilderness. The site features, primitive camping areas nestled amongst redwoods, a teaching structure inspired by sailing technology, a greenhouse, a light straw cabin and several other private residences.
